1. Information We Collect
Account Information — When you register, we collect your name, email address, password (hashed), date of birth, and country of residence. This information is used solely to create and manage your account.
Profile & Demographics — To match you with relevant surveys, we ask you to complete a one-time demographic profile (household income, employment status, education, lifestyle, and similar questions) when you join. Sensitive questions include a “Prefer not to say” option, and you can update your answers at any time.
Survey Responses — Your survey answers are collected and transmitted to the requesting researcher. All responses are anonymized before delivery — your name and contact details are never included.
Usage Data — We collect standard web analytics data (pages visited, time on site, device type, browser) to improve our platform. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity.
2. How We Use Your Information
Survey Matching — Your demographic profile is used to match you with surveys you're likely to qualify for. We never share raw profile data with researchers.
Payments — Your payment details (e.g., PayPal email) are used only to process reward redemptions. We do not store credit card numbers.
Communications — We send survey invitations, reward confirmations, and service updates. You can manage notification preferences from your account settings at any time.
Platform Improvement — Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve survey matching algorithms, UI/UX, and overall platform performance.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
Research Clients — Survey responses are shared with clients in anonymized, aggregated form only. Individual responses are never attributed to a specific member.
Service Providers — We use trusted third-party providers for reward fulfillment (such as PayPal), email delivery, and cloud hosting. These partners are bound by strict data processing agreements.
No Data Sales — We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties. Our business model is built on research fees, not data sales.
Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
4. Your Rights & Controls
Access & Portability — You can request a copy of all data we hold about you at any time by emailing privacy@datavoices.com.
Correction — You can update or correct your profile information directly within the app. Changes take effect immediately.
Deletion — You may request full account deletion by contacting privacy@datavoices.com. All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Opt-Out — You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time. Note that opting out of essential account notifications may affect your ability to use certain features.
5. Security
Encryption — All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
Access Controls — Employee access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only and is logged for audit purposes. Regular access reviews are conducted.
Incident Response — In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours in accordance with applicable regulations.
